JULY 15, 2015 MEMORIAL SKATE/BIKE NIGHT
To Celebrate the Lives of Vincent & Stephen Pitcher
7:00 TO 10:00pm
The very first skateboard competition at Pitcher Park sponsored by D.N.A. Skate Co. will be held. (Contact: DJ Tokar 724-288-6551 for further information) Registration will be held at 11:30AM. The registration fee is: $6.00. This will include a competition for beginners, intermediate and advanced skaters. There will be a bowl, street and a "game of skate" competition. Prizes will be given in certain categories. The skate competition will last until approximately 3:00pm. Pitcher Park T-shirts/hats and drinks will be available at the skatepark during this time. Spectators and photographers are more then welcome to come witness our very talented local skaters!
A Corn Hole Tournament will be held in Carnegie Park as well. Registration starts at 1:30PM Play starts at 2:30PM and the fee for a team of two will be $30.00. There will be double elimination brackets where the losers play the winners in the finals. Cash prizes for first, second and third place will be determined by the number of teams entered. Starting a 3:00PM six bands will be playing in the stone pavilion which with the hillside there will create a natural amphitheater to throw a blanket down or dance to the music. Headlining is Chrome Moses who's band member TJ Connolly coordinated the volunteer bands for the event. The bands include: Bill Jasper, A Lovely Crisis, Sun Hound, Hang Up to Flat, Flock of Walri and Chrome Moses. One band is coming in from Philadelphia for the day!
At 4:00 pm there will be races and fun games for children, adults and families! Also, lot of fun is expected to be had by all when people take a chance on dunking local dignitaries, friends or even themselves in a dunk tank that will be at the park all day! Cost: $3.00 for 3 balls or $3.00 if you are brave enough to be dunked!
The snack bar will be open from 1:00PM on and we are offering ham barbeques, hot dogs, nachos, various salads, snow cones, candy, drinks, chips and there will also be some patriotic novelties for sale as well.
Fireworks will commence after dark to cap off a spectacular day in Carnegie Park!
