pitcherpark.com to see what they're doing and why. In short, coming to this shindig will help local kids have a safe and secure place to skate where they don't have to worry about getting hit by cars.

The event will run from 9PM until 2 AM at Belvederes in Pittsburgh. We'll have a pretty decent chinese auction going and everybody gets 2 tickets with admission, and extra ones are 2 for 1$ or 15 for $5. Pitcher Park shirts and other mechandise will be available for purchase, and if you like the bands most will have band merch for sale too. Check back here over the next week for chinese auction pictures and other updates. It'll be a great time for a great cause! Visit our Zomburgh's Pitcher Park Page

Pitcher Park! We wish them luck and thank them for coming to the states "friendliest city" for real! :)

A GREAT TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!  My goodness..how you guys have changed!  Thank God I don't have to feed them all!

About 50 or more people showed up to play a friendly competition with half the proceeds going to Pitcher Park thanks to our good friend Jeff Lysle who has been conducting this Basketball Classic for the past six years to honor his Birthday!

Jeff did an excellent job of organizing and making sure everyone got their playing time in!  The winners....in the first picture made off with a hefty sum of money, but the smiles on everyone there and signs of friendship were well worth the event!

It was great to see all of you on a Saturday morning all working out out together again!

We are going to have to do this again, eh?

                                                        DORMONT STREET FAIR!

                                                        October 2008

For all of you who did not attend on such a beautiful night, you missed a great time!

Potomac was crowded with thousands of people. Family, friends, and people from all around came to hear Billy Price sing!   Nothing like a couple of saxaphones on a beautiful fall evening!  There was dancing in the streets (Sam, Lauren,Simon and Mary P...along with Mr & Mrs Mastrianni...awww, and random 80 year olds getting down! Now how cool is that? vendors selling their wares, good food, pumpking painting, games from the "Save the Pool Committe" and many more.

We set up to sell pumpkins that were painted by Sam Conn, Lauren Deignan,  Harry,  James Mason, Nick Terkell and others who meandered into Laurens and Sams place!

THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB! THESE PUMPKINS WERE LITTLE PUMPKIN MASTERPIECES, UNLIKE ANY SEEN BEFORE! CUSTOMERS ASKED THEM TO SIGN THE PUMPKINS ...SO WHEN THEY BECOME FAMOUS :)  THEY CAN SAY THEY HAVE ONE OF THEIR EARLY WORKS!

Lauren also made chocolate covered pretzels which all sold out!

Then we had the "caramel apple" committee. God Bless Vicky Karabasz who furnished her beautiful kitchen for a "sticky" night!
Lauren, Ann, Vicky, Mary P, Allie, Kathy and oh yes, let's not forget our "UNWRAPPER" RICH!   He did a fine job of unwrapping many bags of caramels (while watching football...of course!) By the end of the night we managed to manufacture 50 caramel apples of all different varieties!  WE GOT SILLY TOWARD THE END...AND WE HAD FUN!

Shane Knapp worked behind the scene loading Mary Pitcher's car and helping to print out the many signs and the design board! He couldn't come because of.....BABY SHANE!  How cute!!!

Meals and James also hauled a multitude of things to the stand!
Nick brought food to the starving workers!  :) John Scott manned the booth while the workers strayed for a little!
Without everyone .... none of this would have been possible!

Then of course, Lauren and Sam were wonderful!  Since we couldn't get a male volunteer to wear the scarecrow costume...THEY BOTH DID!  SAM TOOK IT A STEP OR TWO FURTHER AND LOW AND BEHOLD WE HAD A ZUMBA DANCING SCARECROW ON STAGE AND HERE IS SOMETHING THAT HAS NEVER EVER HAPPENED IN DORMONT.... A SCARECROW DANCED WITH THE "DORMONT DOG" HOT DOG!  OHHHHH, WHAT A SITE! ....VIDEO TO COME!!!  :D

The event was completely sucsessful as we not only raised awareness for the Park, we made $565.25 and met a lot of wonderful people that are very interested and wish to volunteer to help the skate park!

A huge thank you to Bedner's Farm Market for making this happen!

(if you have read to here you deserve a Bedner's Farm Market tip:  After you carve a pumpkin, put a thin coating of vaseline on the inside and around the cut out eyes, nose, teeth, etc.  This vaseline coats the pumpkin and delays the shriveling effect! Cool right?  Who knew except maybe Martha :)

THANKS TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HELPED AND OUR SUPPORTERS!
