When  questioned, President John Maggio stated that there would be "No investigation into the solicitor", Deron Gabriel, who has called and emailed agencies & 501c3's  to report supposed infractions, supposedly to stave off a complaint being filed against Pitcher Park, and then made explicit orders/ "demands" .  The Solicitor is employed by the Borough and is paid by tax dollars.   If you watch the prior 8 minute video of 9-28-09 you will hear the statement that an investigation into this matter would take place and THE PUBLIC WOULD BE MADE AWARE OF IT!
There is no misunderstanding on that. NONE!

Comments made by Eugene Barilla at the Meet the Candidates night re: the Peters Twp Skate Park and "SERIOUS problems there" & "they wish they would never had built it" supposedly coming from a former unknown resident of Dormont...spurred me on to call Michelle of the Peters Twp Recreation Dept.
What I found was the reason they built the skate park was because a young boy was hit by a car and is paralysed.  THEY HAVE NO SERIOUS ISSUES THERE!  The "only issue" their council/commissioners had was liablitly.  They had had very little opposition to the skate park from the general public.  Lucky them!

She informed me of a Federal Act called the Soveriegn Immunity Act dealing with municipalities and recreational facilities. It holds the govt. harmless to suits filed against them unless there are negligence issues.
The Solicitor should have informed council of that when everyone including council members were questioning the cost of liability for a skatepark.

FYI: Any public meeting can be video taped or recorded by anyone. If you speak at a public meeting you are NOT immune from being recorded, nor do you have to give permission to record someone.
