THESE ARE THE REASONS THIS MOTHER IS DEDICATED TO
BUILDING PITCHER PARK!
VINCENT PITCHER
shortly before he died. He was my only son, who knew what he wanted to be and loved PTI, his teachers and fellow classmates and loved learning his profession. He went into Ariva T & D nervous about his interview and came out with a BEAMING SMILE on his face, knowing that he found a place he was extremely excited to work for! Engineering was a field his Grandfather, Patrick Shea had dedicated his life to, and Vincent had the talent and ability as well!
He loved, loved, loved, BMX riding. Can't tell you how many sets of wheels he bent as he grew older going off jumps! :)
Finally, after seeing a bike meant more to him than driving a car, I purchased Titanium wheels. Costly, but in the end it saved me money!
Vincent as a friend, brother and son, was dedicated to being a humanitarian to all. He did ANYTHING FOR ANYONE...AND PROTECTED ANYONE in situations that may come up! He was selfless with his time and love for all people. He was destined for greatness and is truly missed by all who knew him.
Vincent sacrificed his own life to save that of his younger brother Stephen. HE IS A HERO! HE DIED A HERO! He was nominated by State Representative, Matt Smith for the Carnegie Medal of Honor which is given to those who die trying to save another. Unfortunately, he did not receive this honor as they said "There weren't enough witnesses"? We, his family and friends, know that VINCENT WAS A HERO TO MANY and in their hearts they know that HE WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME FOR ANYONE!
He knew no other way.... WE LOVE YOU VINCE!
STEPHEN PITCHER
Stephen was quiet until you got to know him. He was a good listener and a good friend to many, always giving his 2 cents on problems they might have or just every day situations. He was always thinking about life and was a true romantic for his age. At 13 years old he told me he found his soul mate in a girl who he loved from the time he was 10 years old.
He was the youngest of four sons who as you may know took a lot of grief being the youngest! :) Everyone did everything first before he did. He had to fight for everything he got and that made him stronger than all my other sons.
He was artistic and very imaginative. Stephen loved nature and learned as much as he could about it because it amazed him. He enjoyed camping, fishing, wildlife, and just being out in the wilderness. He was an avid, daily skateboarder with size 13 shoes!
Anywhere, anytime, HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT and was very good at it!
Stephen enjoyed life to the fullest while he was here and enjoyed the company of his many friends. He was a great son, my helper and my best bud. He became the man in my life around the house. At 19, he was just starting to make decisions about his future. A future that was cut short too soon.
Stephen was honored in the September 2008 issue of
Whirl Magazine on the Publishers Page.
See "In the New" on this website!
Also Whirl may be doing a story on our Memorial Skate Park efforts!
Stay tuned!
Some of you may not know...but Stephen did some modeling, commercials, and also did quite a few films, i.e. Diabolique with Sharon Stone & Chaz Palmenteri, Boys on the Side with Woopie Goldberg and Only You with MarrissaTorme and Robert Downey Jr., etc. etc.
Stephen worked at the Rythm House and more recently at Rite Aid on Bower Hill Road. He helped every weekend at Antique Exchange as well.
He was also an avid drummer who was self taught!
WE MISS YOU STEVIE!!!!
Jonathan- Their older brother.
Although in the video below you can't tell :D, Jonathan, the guy with the fake mullet, is an Iraq war veteran. Having served in the 107th Field Artillery Unit in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He was stationed at Camp Bucca, a prison camp in Iraq. He left on December 28, 2003 and returned home in April of 2005. It was a long haul, not only for Jonathan, but for the brothers he left behind, who idolized him!
Since his return, he has been heavily involved with many organizations and has spent time in Hati, South Dakota, Jamaica and many other areas doing mission work. Jonathan left for Costa Rica in March of 2009 where he will continue his mission work teaching English there and will be backpacking through to Peru and Panama as well. He will return home on August 5,2009.
As his many friends will tell you...he is a busy guy, but he "keeps on ticking!" Jonathan is a hero in many people's eyes and the good thing is....he doesn't even know it, he just does what he does and is what he is!
Many people love that about him!
Stephen and Brady
Brady Pitcher
Brady Pitcher, was the "supervisor" of the house on Kelton Avenue. A great big brother to Stephen and Vince he was always watching out for them and finding out where they were! Brady's heart is broken over the loss of his little brothers!
Brady is a member of the Boilermakers Local 154 in Pittsburgh. He "works hard for his money", but he absolutely loves his job and the people he works with! Anyone that knows Brady....can tell you, even though he is working hard.... he still manages to sleep :), make people laugh and enjoy life!
(Geri, he loves you with all his heart! and
WE ALL LOVE YOU TOO BRADY!)
A NEW GENERATION IS HERE!
