Tony Hawk plays a big role in making a community dream come true by awarding Pitcher Park Memorial Skatepark a $10,000 Grant!
The Tony Hawk Foundation Grant spurred the Pitcher Park Skate Park Project on at
a time when the skate park plan was looking very grim in Dormont and supporters were getting weary. The grant was approved after the park was initially voted down by Dormont Council. However, with the newly elected council came a new opportunity to present a motion for a multi use park, representing the thrid design for the placement of a skatepark along Banksville Road, in Dormont . The council approved the multi use park 4-3 on April 5, 2010 after a year and a half
of debate, designs, presentations, petitions, meetings, and many residents voicing opinions.
The Tony Hawk Grant has given Pitcher Park a great financial boost to start them on their way to make this park a reality for the community of Dormont.
On behalf of Pitcher Park Memorial Skate Park and their supporters, I wish to thank Tony Hawk for all of his hard work, dedication to children and raising awareness about the sport of skateboarding .

Tony Hawk grant application starts August 15, 2009 and goes to October 1, 2009.
Now that we are a 501(c)3 and are preparing a preliminary design, we will be eligible to start the grant application process with the Tony Hawk Foundation.
Patrick Shea is working this process and we are also looking for other companies that have foundations and grants to improve the lives of young people.
